Loaded is two groups of objects, utilitarian and symbolic, that elicit emotion through association with use and users.
Vernon Bowden is exhibiting a collection of objects chosen for the emotional response they can evoke. Artifacts that differ from other objects because of their ephemeral connection to humanity, events, and history.
Sean O’Connell finds a practical use for jewellery skills and materials, repairing his grandmother’s kettle and friends’ various broken things using gold, questioning ideas of value, and encouraging a deeper relationship between ourselves and the nameless objects that populate our everyday lives.
